THREE - PERFECT, WHOLESOME & COMPLETE
THREE –
PERFECT, WHOLESOME & COMPLETE
I happen to observe a pattern about God and
that He is a Perfect, Complete and Wholesome.
The number
three is significant in various aspects of life, ranging from spirituality to
arts and culture, as well as psychology, economics, social, and political
areas. I will focus on the spiritual bit of it and just touch a little on the
other aspects since my focus is on the spiritual significance of it.
The earth we live on was created on the third
day Gen 1:9-10
And God
said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one
place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. 10God called the dry
land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And
God saw that it was good.
In the book of Judges
Gideon gathered over 30,000 men but God at the end of the day
selected 300 of them Judges 7:6 'And the number of them that lapped,
putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of
the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water. '
Young Samuel had
an encounter with God as a boy child. God called him three times to gain
his attention 1 Samuel 3:8 'And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And
he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli
perceived that the LORD had called the child. '
Thar Ark of God
remained in Obededom’s house for three months and his entire household was
blessed 2 Samuel 6:11 ‘And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obed-edom
the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obed-edom, and all his
household.
'
God was with the
three Hebrew boys Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and delivered them from
the fiery furnace Daniel 3:23 'And these three men, Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abed-nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery
furnace. '
Jesus Christ was
visited by the wise men who came to Jesus with three gifts Matthew 2:11 'And when they were come
into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down,
and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented
unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. '
Jesus began his
ministry at the age of thirty Luke 3:23 'And Jesus himself began
to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph,
which was the son of Heli, '
Jesus had three
disciples as his inner most member thus Peter, James and John Luke 9:28'And it came to pass about eight
days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James and went up
into a mountain to pray. '
Jesus died at 3pm
which is the ninth hour Luke 23:44 ‘And it was about the sixth hour, and
there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. '
He resurrected
on the third day John 20:1 ‘The first day of the week cometh Mary
Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone
taken away from the sepulchre. '
Three is a
strong number and force reason it is said in the book of Ecclesiastes that a three-fold
chord cannot be broken and that talks about unity Ecclesiastes 4:12 'And if one prevail
against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly
broken. '
God is in
three persons – Father, Son & Holy Spirit
We as humans are made of three parts –
body, soul and spirit
Thirty years forms a generation
There are three primary colours (red,
blue & yellow) – to form beauty in art and these primary colours are the
basis of all coloration

the most stable

executive and judicial

in slogans or pay offline

The number three is a
profound number layered in meaning across religion, culture, time,
spirituality, economics, politics, history and many facets of life. I am reflecting
on this and it gets me thinking deeply about it and how it impacts our life and
choices, and the spiritual undertones associated with it. Three therefore is a
divine number.
